VALUES in ACTION
Unitarians are united by our belief in the inherent worth and dignity of each person and by our responsibility to express our faith through acts of justice and compassion. We work to create positive social change, locally, regionally and nationally. We invite you to join us by participating in some of our current groups or suggesting others. . .

Action Friday
Because politics and budgets are a reflection of our values, we closely monitor decisions that are being made around our state and nationally. Every Friday at 11am we join with UU’s and fellow justice seekers from around the state via ZOOM. Together we learn about key issues and take action by making calls and writing legislators all within an hour!

Heart of the Carolinas UU Animal Ministry
Join us monthly as we release furry friends from their chains by building new fenced-in enclosures at their homes. We also provide doghouses, if needed, bringing joy and relief to the dogs and their grateful owners.

Share the Plate
Budgets are a reflection of our values and social action is an expression of our faith. Once a month our Fellowship proudly combines the two by “Sharing the Plate” with a local non-profit. Each charity is chosen by the congregation, joins us to share their story, and the entire collection from that day’s service is donated.

Walk the Talk:
Joy of Freedom Walk
We support this annual September fundraising event for Joy International, a charity working to end human trafficking by walking and giving. The event also supports Fields of Hope, which serves local survivors.

Using our Voice and Presence to Make a Difference
Our core beliefs are strengthened and expressed when we stand together and walk with others to express our concern about policies that do not protect all of us, our constitutional rights, or our environment. Our weekly newsletter frequently shares opportunities to which we can lend our voices.

Support As Needed
We have been privileged to help support flood victims of Hurricane Helene, our neighbors who require assistance from Ada Jenkins, Room at the Inn, Habitat for Humanity, Crisis Assistance Ministry and to participate in area coat and food drives. We stand ready to help when asked and hope you will join us.
