Our Minister

The Rev. Pat Jobe is a 31-year veteran of pastoral ministry. He is the author or co-author of nine books and does commentary as a volunteer for WNCW through a feature known as Radio Free Bubba. Pat has a number of songs and sermons on YouTube.

Rev. Jobe is a foster parent to two adults and has four other children and four grandchildren.

Pat hosted The Connection Independent Television for 15 episodes, a program that was distributed nationally by Free Speech Television and can be seen on YouTube.

He was arrested twice protesting South Carolina’s failure to provide Medicaid expanded coverage to poor people and went eight days in 2014 without solid food protesting mountaintop removal in West Virginia.

Rev. Jobe’s partner of 17 years is Gabriele Rissmeyer. They were married in 2021. The two live with two dogs. He is an award-winning journalist and has worked in industrial sales, on the factory floor, and as a pizza delivery man.

For 40 years, primarily as a volunteer, Pat has been an ally of battered women and their children. He currently serves as the minister to the Unitarians of Lake Norman, and All Souls Community in Rutherford County, N.C. He writes for two local papers in Rutherford County and works with both the FeedNC ministry at Lake Norman and chainfreedogs.org, part of the Heart Of The Carolinas UU Animal Ministry. He encourages the congregation to support Doug and Pat Wall and Pat’s sister, Susan in their ministry to meet the busses in Charlotte who often carry asylum seekers from the Southern Border. Along with members of the Lake Norman congregation he has walked The Barefoot Mile which is know called the Joy and Freedom Walk, which supports local and international efforts against human trafficking.
