![]() Sunday Service, 3 P.M.: FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE 625 SOUTH ST., DAVIDSON Please visit our events calendar for more information. Mail: P.O. Box 991 Davidson, NC 28036 PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO THE END OF THE NEWSLETTER May 24 – Rev. Pat Jobe: ‘Naming Names, Facing Faces’The power of names, faces, identity in a world of confusion, pain and things that are hard to deal with. The Rev. Pat Jobe joined our Fellowship on Aug. 1, 2020. He is married to his lovely spouse Gabe and is an enthusiastic supporter of UU Lake Norman, FeedNC, Heart of the Carolinas UU Animal Ministry, the Barefoot Ministry, and all work done by UUs in our area. Services can be viewed live at 3:10 p.m., and later for replays, by visiting our website. Information on upcoming services can also be found on our Facebook page. May 31 – Chanting Kirtan with Jason Hart Kirtan is a powerful practice of leaving behind our thoughts constrained by stress, fear, worry or other distractions and opening our experience of our connection to the universe. ![]() Our services to the families affected by deportation are winding down. Barbara Randolph and her North Meck Immigration Network are so grateful for our 14 months of service, which will end with All Souls Community in Forest City paying the June rent. We will also pay a private school bill and offer some other last-minute aid. These folks often work two jobs to make ends meet. Their nine children from four sets of parents are the childcare duty of one of the moms. Among her charges is Julio Zambrano’s daughter, who was born after his March 2025 deportation and that horrible plane ride that a federal judge tried to stop. Julio is still in Venezuela, and the network is hoping to give him some hope of reuniting with his wife and children. These families are only four of the dozens crushed under the wheels of a violent crackdown on immigrants here and across the country. Our love of justice has served them well during these 14 months. None of us would have lived well through what they have endured with great heart and spirit. ![]() Share the Plate will be the first Sunday in June and proceeds will benefit the minister’s discretionary fund. Most of you know that we’re helping folks in financial crisis with these funds. ![]() The auction fundraiser was a great success! The final total is continuing to change due to our Second Chance items that are still available, but at this time the total is $11,599. Thanks to all who contributed in any way to help the auction to be so successful. If you haven’t paid for your winning bids, please give it to Linda Heydenburg. There are still some openings in the following Second Chance events. If you would like to be added to the event, let Pat Wall know.
