Sept. 21 – Rev. Pat Jobe: ‘The Sacredness of Water’
Though we don’t do it every year, there is an annual tradition among many UU congregations to gather water in September as summer is over and a new season of gathering begins. We will bring water from travels or our own backyards or for those who don’t read the newsletter there will be cups in the lobby and you can gather a little at the Quaker meeting house. We will combine it in a large bowl and tell stories of our own lives, families (at least two of us have become new grandparents in the past few months) travels or passions. After the ceremony, we will pour the ritualized water at the base of a tree in the yard in the meeting house where we have gathered for the past four years.
