Our fellowship is an active community that our energy and support make possible. The proposed budget for 2026 is $75,325, which is a 13% increase over the current year. The lion’s share of budget, 70%, covers salaries for our minister, musicians, and guest speakers. We have increased these items as we work to bring our salaries inline with UUA standards for a Fellowship of our size and location. Our budget also includes rent for our beautiful meeting space and an increased set aside for future space needs, charitable giving, insurance, dues to the UUA, office expenses and operations, website and software fees- in short, everything that makes our Fellowship operate successfully. Ways to Give
First let the church know what your annual pledge will be, either by turning in your pledge card at a service or by contacting admin@uulakenorman.org Then:
- Pay by Check(s), payable to UUFLKN during services, or by mail to UUFKLN, PO Box 991, Davidson, NC 28036
- Credit/Debit Card or Bank Draft through Breeze
- Give Stock
- Give directly from your IRA or 401k
- Pay with Cash, but please make sure it is in an envelope with your name so it counts towards your pledge
Donating is a Breeze!
Once your pledge has been recorded, you can set it up to be paid monthly, quarterly or even weekly through Breeze (our UUFLKN secure database). You can deduct your gift from your bank account or have it charged to a debit or credit card (Great for Frequent Flyer points!).
On the Breeze site to the right put in the amount you want deducted each time. For example, for a $1,200 pledge enter a gift of $100 to be paid monthly and how you want to pay- your bank or credit card. There is a small handling fee at the time of each transaction. Please click that you would like to cover the fee so the Fellowship receives the full value of your gift.
Take Stock? Yes, We Do!
When you donate shares of appreciated stock to UUFLKN, you receive the full market value of your gift on the day of transfer. You get a tax deduction for the market value, and not just your cost basis, and pay no capital gains!
Have your broker transfer stock to our account at Edward Jones. Our DTC # is 0057 and our account # is 2812524110.
Have your broker send a gift notification to us at admin@uulakenorman.org. Once the stock is received, it is sold and the funds are immediately put into our bank account.
Using Your IRA or 401k to Make Your Gift
When you are 73 or older, you must take a minimum required distribution from these accounts each year. Normally, this money would be counted and taxed as personal income. However, you can direct your financial advisor to give your pledge amount by check directly to UUFLKN. While you do not receive a tax deduction for your gift, those funds will not count as income to you and so generally saves you taxes.
