Jim Price: ‘Cognitive Dissonance and the USA’
Cognitive dissonance is “the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes” and likely influenced many of us to turn from other religions to Unitarianism. Can the USA have cognitive dissonance? Will a little history, mathematics, politics, and humor make the case? Is there an obverse or flip side of cognitive dissonance? What are we going to do about it? Well ….
Kids’ Spiritual Exploration for this Sunday: Kim Lucas and Véronique Singerman will be doing Thich Nhat Hanh’s Pebble Meditation with the young ones. It’s a hands-on, creative form of meditation, designed to cultivate freshness, stability, clarity, and inner freedom.
