DESCRIPTION:Due to weather concerns\, this build has been postponed once again until February 14. \n\n\n\n\n\nHeart of the Carolinas UU Animal Ministry will be building two enclosures for 16 well-loved dogs in honor of Aloka\, the Peace Dog. We have all the tools you will need and a friendly group of people to teach you everything you need to know. Just show up and be prepared to have a great time\, meet some new people\, and enjoy seeing some very happy dogs! Organized by Jim Price and Claudia Perkinson. You can reach them by email or by filling out a Contact Form. \n\n\n\nIf you have not been to a fence build in a while\, please join us this Saturday.  We have some new “tricks” that we have learned and a build is usually completed by 11:30 a.m. It’s a great way to help those dogs (and their humans) and spend quality time with like-minded animal lovers. Gary Phillips and three other writers: ‘Welcome to Death Faire‘ \n\n\n\nPhillips and friends will share with us from Welcome to Death Faire\, the work of 31 writers and probably that many photographers. It is a lavish\, creative effort to do what the book’s curator\, Tami Schwerin\, calls “bringing death out of the closet.” Like the Mexican Day of the Dead\, Death Faire has graced Pittsboro\, N.C.\, for the past ten years with three-day gatherings of funeral directors\, casket makers\, hospice workers\, health care workers and other caring community folks to face death and maybe even dance with it a little. Schwerin will be with Rev. Phillips along with a couple of the other writers including our own Pat Jobe.

There will be an opportunity to join him for an informal dinner following his talk.

We have written thousands of emails\, calls\, and letters to the editor. We unite our voices and demand change\, equality\, and justice. Not only that\, there is some amazing fellowship that happens in this group. If you want to be where it’s happening\, this is your chance. All are welcome! \n\n\n\nIf you cannot make it to the Friday Action Hour\, we have a Google Doc with micro-actions of the week. Some take less than a minute or two to complete. They can be found on our Google Doc and are updated each Friday.

DESCRIPTION:Heart of the Carolinas UU Animal Ministry will be building a fence for beloved dogs. We have all the tools you will need and a friendly group of people to teach you everything you need to know. Just show up and be prepared to have a great time\, meet some new people\, and enjoy seeing some very happy dogs! Organized by Jim Price and Claudia Perkinson. You can reach them by email or by filling out a Contact Form. \n\n\n\nIf you have not been to a fence build in a while\, please join us this Saturday.  We have some new “tricks” that we have learned and a build is usually completed by 11:30 a.m. It’s a great way to help those dogs (and their humans) and spend quality time with like-minded animal lovers. Just do it all in one sermon. And the next Sunday he has a day off\, so no need to worry about an encore. Pat had a seminary professor who said\, “Folks\, don’t try to preach the whole Bible every Sunday.” Pat is going way beyond that. Let’s see whether he can land that plane.
